May 23rd: Debbie Knight “Remarriage and Blended Families”

Debbie Knight is married to Tracy Knight and is a mother of 3 grown children and stepmother of 3 and a grandmother of 6 (almost 7!) grandchildren. She has lived in Robinson most of her life and graduated from Lincoln Trail College and Vincennes beauty school.
She and her husband love traveling together and spending time with their grandkids.
Tracy and Debbie were married in April of 2000. By putting their faith and trust in the Lord they have overcome some of the struggles and obstacles that come with remarriage and blended families. They share their story with others in hopes that they can help other blended families get through difficult situations that arise in second marriages.

April 25th: Julie Brooks “Continued Faith and Trust”

Julie Brooks is a wife, mother of four children, 3 grandchildren and is a nurse. She was born and raised in Palestine and graduated as an RN from Lincoln Trail College in 1990.

She is active with the orphan ministry at Highland Church of Christ and attended Outer West Market in Palestine for many years while raising her children.
There were many trials over the years in her personal life and obstacles that were overcome only through the power of prayer, faith and trust in the Lord. God has definitely paved the road for Julie and aligned situations that put her in places where He meant her to be.
She is Director of the Home Health Department at Crawford Memorial Hospital, serves on the board of the Palestine Food Pantry as well as the Good News Daycare in Chicago. She has led numerous mission trips over the years and facilitated the launching of the orphan ministry at HCC. She has a heart for adoption, orphan care, mission and outreach to those in need.

April 11th: Libby Morecraft “Work of Art Ministries: Chalk Talk”

Born in Laurel, MS, Libby Morecraft believes that God wants to use our area of giftedness for His glory. From a young age, her artistic abilities were obvious, and so was her love for Jesus. After winning several ribbons in grade school she pursued art through high school, and then in college. She graduated from MS College with a BA in Art and a minor in vocal music.

In 1987, she married Rusty Morecraft, from Marshall, IL. Together they have served in several areas of ministry in 5 states. They have 4 children, Lane, Drew, Sean and Audree. Rusty pastored at FBC, Oblong for 9 years.

In 2013, Rusty accepted the call as Director of Missions for Saline Baptist Association. They currently live in Harrisburg,IL, where Libby teaches a Senior Adult Art Class through the local community college. She also has “Paint n Pie ” Parties on the side, as we as opportunities to present her art ministy.
Through “Work of Art Ministries” she uses chalk talks, pottery, sculpture, painting and music to share the Gospel of Jesus.

March 28th: Trey Reid “Between Sundays: Developing a Daily Walk with God”

Trey Reid was born and raised in Homestead, Florida. He started his Christian walk in 1993, after hearing the gospel and responding during a school chapel service. After being very active in church during middle and high school, Trey followed God’s call into full time ministry. That call led him to attend Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky. He met his wife Hannah there, and they were married on August 7, 2004. They have two beautiful daughters, Callie and Ashtyn. Trey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Youth Ministry from Boyce College and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary. He has served in full time ministry since 2005 at churches in Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina and Illinois. He is passionate about connecting with people and helping them connect with Christ. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, golfing, playing guitar, and watching University of Kentucky basketball.

 

Trey is the Pastor at First Baptist Church of Robinson. Join us as he shares with us about how to study God’s Word and make it a priority in our everyday lives.  Mom2Mom meets from 6:15-8:00pm at FBC Robinson (301 South Jefferson). All ladies are welcome and free childcare is provided.

March 14th: Dana James “Pressing or Precious? Managing Time for Busy Moms”

Dana’s heart is to connect women with God’s heart through the teaching of His Word. Her passion is to see women know God and glorify Him through their lives. She has spoken at conferences, retreats and events as far away as Africa and as close as her own home town. Her teaching is done with authenticity, transparency and much fun and laughter!
After being a stay-at-home mom, Dana taught in colleges in Texas and Tennessee as well as provided training for businesses and industries in a variety of areas such as leadership, team building, communication, time management, customer service, and computer application software. Currently she works at Pier 1 where she loves to connect with women from all over the world!
Dana gets excited about meaningful, honest conversation, celebrating small victories, and spending time with her incredible family and friends. She was not raised in a Christian home yet is a pastor’s wife, a pastor’s mother, and a pastor’s mother-in-law…a testament to the grace and mercy of God!
Dana and her husband, Ernie, live in Greenwood, Indiana where they serve Calvary Baptist Church.

November 15th: Sandra Nichols “Train Up a Child…Musically Speaking”

Sandra Nichols is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University, having received BS in Education with majors in music and English and MA in keyboard performance. At 19, she began teaching music- parttime– general & instrumental music in 3 elementary schools in Jasper County; private piano; and most importantly, music education for baby daughter Pam, soon to be joined by Mike & Becky. After her children stqrted to school, she began teaching full time–band at Dieterich, band & English at Newton High School. After retirement, she taught music parttime at Hutsonville Robinson & music appreciation at LTC. She has maintained a private keyboard studio since 1961, along with serving as accompanist for concerts and musicals at LTC and as accompanist & adjudicator for choir festivals, clinics and competitions. She is proud of the many students who have enjoyed this musical journey, including those who have become music teachers & piano students who are now PhD professors in various universities–but especially her family who share her love for music.
