May 19th: Ola Snyder “I Once was Lost, but Now I’m Found”

Born and raised in Russia, Ola came to the U.S. at the age of 16 as an exchange student. That memorable year, she not only fell in love with this country and its wonderful people, but she came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

Now she is married to a husband who is in full time ministry, raises and educates their two daughters at home, and enjoys life in the beautiful Southern Illinois.

Come hear Ola share about her journey, her testimony, the difference and the impact her faith in the living God made in her life and also in the way she chooses to raise her children.

She hopes to encourage and strengthen women, so that they know that no matter where they find themselves in life, our gracious God is always at work. He is the Author of life, He’s the One who holds our days, and guides our paths, in Him we live and breathe, and “move and have our being”. He is most definitely present in the little mundane details and drudgery of our lives. It is vitally important that we as wives and mothers ( or future wives and mothers) recognize that and never lose sight of that, and never ever let go of hope.

Ladies, please join us for Mom2Mom at FBC Robinson on May 19th 6:30-8:00pm! You will not want to miss this, invite a friend! Free childcare provided.

May 5th: “Mom Panel Discussion”

Loretta Gallion, Becky Miller, Debbie Knight

For our May 5th Mom2Mom meeting, we will be having a somewhat different format.  Our Mentor Moms: Loretta Gallion, Becky Miller, and Debbie Knight will be serving as our “mom panel.”  This will be a time of open discussion, where you can ask these ladies questions about topics such as motherhood, family, marriage, etc.  Each of these women have different backgrounds and life experiences to share.

Let me introduce our M2M Mentor Moms:

Loretta Gallion is married to Gary Gallion and they have four children who are all married and have given them nine grandchildren, ages 2 to 15, who are the light of their lives.  For the last 25 years (and counting) Loretta has worked in a law office.  Prior to working outside her home, she was a daycare provider and considers many now grown-up kids hers as well.  Loretta serves at FBC in many areas including mission board, Sunday School teacher, nursery and primary church.

Becky Miller is a native of Jasper County, graduating from Newton High School in 1982.   It was during church camp when she became a Christian and she has loved sharing Him with others ever since through word and song.  She has a music degree from EIU and taught in the Crawford County schools for 16 years, prior to “retiring” to care for her son, Ben.  Becky, her husband Tom, and Ben live at Westlake and love spending time with daughter Tara and her growing family, her husband Tim, and daughters, Harper and Drew.  Becky and Tom have been active members of FBC Robinson since 1986 and serve in many areas including praise team.

Debbie Knight is 47 years old, mother of 3, stepmom of 3 and grandmother (Mimi) of 5 adorable grandchildren.  She is blessed to be married to the love of her life, Tracy Knight.  Debbie has been a hairstylist since 1987 and is now the owner of The Cutting Edge in Robinson.  She enjoys being involved in musical and drama productions at Lincoln Trail College, spending time with her family, and traveling with her husband.  At church, she serves on the mission board, sings on the praise team, music committee, and helps teach primary church.  Debbie finds a passion in talking to other “fellow” blended family parents about issues that occur and help give them advice on how to help overcome struggles that pop up and how to make second marriages work!

Make plans to attend Mom2Mom and invite a friend!  Free childcare is provided.
