October 4th: Elizabeth Paschen “Mom, I’m Hungry”

Hello. Writing a bio, … Ugh… Not everyone’s favorite…
Let’s see…
I’m the cook.

That’s it.

Well, not really….
I’m a Christian, a wife, a mother, a drug dealer, AND THE cook. Ok, ok… Technically I’m a “Pharm.D.” (Doctor of Pharmacy) but drug dealer is way more fun to say than “pharmacist.” Anyway, I say “the cook” because cooking is my favorite. My family, like yours (probably), relies heavily on me to provide them with healthy nutrition to fuel their bodies. So, with this Mom2Mom chat, I will be sharing with you how I deal with the constant statement from children of all ages…
“Mom! I’m hungry!”
I truly believe that God wants us to take care of our bodies. I also believe one of the most important things I can teach my children is to take care of the body God gave them and to truly treat it as a temple for Him. I feel that the best to do this is to lead by example, and provide them with the knowledge of healthy food choices. I will discuss meal planning, time saving tips, packing healthy school lunches and how to get the kids involved so eventually they will be fixing YOU dinner! I also look forward to hearing your great kitchen ideas too! As always, I’ll have snacks…
Hope you can make it!

September 20th: Loretta Gallion & Barb Riggs “Mission Mindset”

(Barb Riggs & Loretta Gallion)

Loretta Gallion is married to Gary Gallion and they have four children who are all married and have given them ten grandchildren, ages 3 months to 16, who are the light of their lives. For the last 25 years (and counting) Loretta has worked in a law office. Prior to working outside her home, she was a daycare provider and considers many now grown-up kids hers as well. She serves at FBC in many areas including mission board, Sunday School teacher, nursery and primary church. In 2013, Loretta had the opportunity to go on a mission trip to New Zealand to work with missionaries that are supported by FBC. And then this past June, she was on a team that went to West Virginia to host a Vacation Bible School and also helped in flood relief. Loretta will be sharing her heart for missions and her experiences while serving.

Barb Riggs has been happily married to Jim for 30 years and is the proud mom to children Hailey (24) and Joe (20). She works at Lincoln Elementary School, and in her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, baking from scratch, and being at the beach. Barb has been faithfully serving at FBC for many years in areas including youth, children, Christian education board, and she is also our hospitality coordinator for Mom2Mom. This summer Barb was part of a team that went to Telford, England and Wales on a mission trip. They were there to help with a student camp and also met with the missionaries supported by FBC. Barb will be speaking on her experiences and the importance of missions.
